Bookkeeping Specialist, A.A.S.


The Bookkeeping Specialist, AAS introduces students to basic steps of the accounting cycle, industry standard accounting system software, spreadsheet development and payroll accounting for candidates seeking an entry level bookkeeping position. Emphasis is on a small business setting and workforce preparation skills.

Note: The AAS degree is not for “Accounting” majors. This AAS occupational degree does not transfer to a 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in “Accounting.”  Students seeking a 4 year BBA degree in “Accounting” must follow Associate of Arts (AA) degree, Business Administration: Pre-Major “Accounting.” Instead, the AAS transfers to a BAAS workforce credit degree with “Business Concentration,” not “Accounting” major at Texas A&M SA. 

With this degree, you may seek jobs such as:  

Bookkeeping Specialist, Bookkeeper Assistant, Billing Specialist, Accounts Receivable Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist and Payroll Specialist
