The department provides workforce training that meet or exceed certifications requirements from national organizations like the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). American Welding Society (AWS), Plumbing and Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC), The North American Board of Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

Students should take the classes when offered or they may experience a one-year delay in graduation. In some unique cases, credit can be given for industry experience or, alternatively, students can challenge a course by taking and passing a departmental exam. Regular tuition and fees apply when students challenge a course. Some programs have requirements for background checks and/or drug testing. Background checks and drug tests are at the student’s expense.
