ADDENDUM: CREDIT/NO CREDIT SPRING 2020 and SUMMER 2020
|
|
Students have the option to petition for Credit/No Credit (CR/NC) for Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 course grades. Certain courses identified by the college are not eligible for Credit/No Credit option due to regulatory or accreditation factors.
- Students must complete the eligible course with a letter grade A, B, C, D or F to be eligible for Credit/No Credit option.
- There is no numerical value assigned to Credit/No Credit that will affect the student’s GPA.
- There is no limit to the number of Spring 2020 eligible course sections that students may convert to Credit/No Credit grading.
- Students may make their decision on a course-by-course basis.
- Students have until July 30th, 2020 to choose for Credit/No Credit for Spring 2020 courses
- Students have until Octover 2nd, 2020 to choose for Credit/No Credit for Summer 2020 courses.
- A grade of Credit will be awarded for grades A, B, and C; a grade of No Credit will be awarded for grades D and F.
- All decisions to elect the Credit/No Credit option are final and may not be changed once submitted. The option will not be available after the July 30, 2020 deadline (Spring Courses) and October 2nd (Summer Courses)
- A grade of Credit will earn the semester hours for that course; a grade of No Credit will not earn semester hours.
- Students should consider possible implications of a Credit/No Credit option on their GPA (e.g., on course transfer, GPA calculations, financial aid, etc.). Students are encouraged to speak with an advisor before petitioning for this option.
- The Credit grade will not have an adverse impact on financial aid or veterans’ benefits.
- A grade of Credit awarded in Spring 2020 and/or Summer 2020 will satisfy the “C or better” requirement for course prerequisites.
- Students graduating in Spring 2020 must still meet an overall GPA of 2.0 and degree requirements.
- The grade of I will have an extended deadline for resolution. See note below*
*Incomplete Grades
The conditional grade of “I” may be issued to a student having a passing average on all completed coursework but for a justified reason has been prevented from taking the final examination or completing other required coursework. The “I” becomes an “F” at the end of the Summer 2021 term, (on August 14th, 2021) unless the student completes the balance of the coursework with a performance grade of “D” or higher. Re-enrollment in the course will not resolve the “I.” Students may be required to sign an agreement outlining the requirements to satisfactorily complete the course.
Enrollment into subsequent courses may be impacted by students not completing “I” coursework by registration deadline.
If a student completes the balance of the coursework and receives a letter grade prior to July 30th, 2020, they may choose to replace that grade using of the Credit/No Credit option.
