Computer Maintenance Technology, A.A.S.


The Computer Maintenance Degree is designed for students who desire a career in the information and communication technology fields with a focus on the Personal Computer (PC).  The program provides students with hands-on training in computer hardware and software to meet the growing demand for the professionals who can modify, repair and upgrade personal computers, computer peripherals and local area networks (LAN).  

With this award, you  may seek jobs such as:  

Computer Maintenance Technician, Help Desk Support Technician, PC maintenance and Repair Supervisor, PC installation Technician, Desktop Technician, Laptop Repair Technician, IT support Technician, Sales Associate and Device Repair Technician, Field Service Technician, Cable and Telecommunication Installation Technician

The Computer Maintenance Degree is designed for students who desire a career in the information and communication technology fields with a focus on the Personal Computer (PC).  The program provides students with hands-on training in computer hardware and software to meet the growing demand for the professionals who can modify, repair and upgrade personal computers, computer peripherals and local area networks (LAN). The curriculum is focused on the fundamentals of electronics as it relates to PC technology with an introduction to networking, and network security.  The program uses a variety of technologies such as hands-on labs and virtual laptop and desktop learning tools help students develop critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. Simulation-based learning activities promote the exploration of network and networking security concepts and allow students to experiment with network behavior.  Graduates of the program go well beyond the A+ certification standards in their ability to solve computer-related problems effectively, minimizing downtime in the organization.
