VNSG 1429 - Medical-Surgical Nursing I Corequisites: VNSG 2260
Application of the nursing process to the care of the adult patient experiencing medical-surgical conditions along the health-illness continuum in a variety of health care settings. Nursing intervention through application of the nursing process for clients with cancer and medical and surgical disorders related to the following systems: Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal, Neurosensory Neurosensory, Gastrointestinal and Integumentary systems. Also included are disorders of the male and female reproductive systems. This course will include anatomy and physiology review, medical and surgical treatment and the related nursing interventions, as well as the psychological approach in caring for these clients.
