Histologic Technician (2716)


Histology is the study of tissue and tissue structure and how it relates to organ function.  Emphasis is placed on the body’s organ systems - their structure and function.  Working closely with the histologic technicians, the pathologist can determine whether disease or pathology exists; for example, cancer.  Histologic technicians develop expertise in handling and processing tissues by fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
