Histologic Technician (2716)
Histology is the study of tissue and tissue structure and how it relates to organ function. Emphasis is placed on the body’s organ systems - their structure and function. Working closely with the histologic technicians, the pathologist can determine whether disease or pathology exists; for example, cancer. Histologic technicians develop expertise in handling and processing tissues by fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
