Early Childhood Studies Certificate of Completion

Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - By Degree Type This Early Childhood Studies Technical Certificate provides the student with knowledge and hands‐on experience to meet the daily challenges of the Early Care and Education field. A sampling of issues addressed include parent involvement dynamics, areas of growth & development, the inclusive classroom, developmentally appropriate curriculum & equipment, dealing with child abuse, and positive guidance techniques. Upon completion the student is prepared to work in settings, such as, but not limited to, childcare facilities, educational programs, federally‐funded youth programs, and private/church schools’ early childhood programs.
Students must contact the Student Advisor for a current degree plan to verify fulfillment of core and general education course requirements.
Students enrolled in Practicum Courses: CDEC 1266 or CDEC 2267 must complete a minimum of 20 hours per week at an early childhood setting (it can be paid or volunteer) approved by the department. |
