Early Childhood Studies Certificate

Return to: Programs and Courses - Early Childhood and Family Studies This program is designed to provide knowledge and skills for immediate workforce entry into a variety of careers in the field of early care and education. Careers that focous on working with young children and their families. The credits from the certificate transfer into all AAS degrees. The AAS degree may transfer credits to other BAAS, BA or BS degrees. Students will be required to complete and clear a background check and drug screening for practicum experiences. Students enrolled in practicum experiences must complete no less than 20 hours per week at an early childhood/community setting (paid or volunteer) approved by the program.
Students must contact the Student Advisor for a current degree plan to verify fulfillment of core and general education course requirements.

Semester II Summer/Flex – 6 Hours
Notes:
* TECA course that requires fifteen (16) hours of field experience
- Student can do concurrent enrollment in developmental course prerequisites along with early childhood courses (CDEC/TECA).
- Student must complete practicum experiences.
- Student may contact the advisor or Program about transfer of CDA credits and/or Experiential credit (i.e. credit for work experience).
