Early Childhood and Family Studies, A.A.S. - Specialization in Accreditation Leadership

This program is designed to prepare students for a specialized career in the field of early care and education.  A career that focuses on leadership development and knowledge of the basic principles of accreditation when working with children, families and communities.  The AAS degree may transfer credits to other BAAS, BA or BS degrees.  Students will be required to complete and clear a background check and drug screening for practicum experiences.  Students enrolled in practicum expereinces must complete no less than 20 hours per week at an early childhood/community setting (paid or volunteer) approved by the program.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • Student can do concurrent enrollment in developmental course prerquisites along with early childhood courses (CDEC/TECA).
  • Students are advised to complete academic core and/or electives during summer or flex semesters
  • Student must complete praticum expereinces.
  • Student may contact the advisor or Program about transfer of CDA credits and/or Experiential credit (i.e. credit for work experience).
