The mission of the Early Childhood and Family Studies Program will be to provide the community a student-centered comprehensive early childhood program responsive to cultural, ethnic, socio-economic diversity, rich in current and innovative ideas and nurturing authentic learning and hands-on experiences. The results are successful individuals well prepared for a variety of job opportunities in the rapidly changing early care and education profession. The program offerings include three plans leading to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree with or without specialization and one (1) Certificate of Completion. All Internship courses require a clearance from a current criminal history background check, drug screening and fingerprinting. Other early childhood education settings may require additional screenings or background checks such as current PPD (Tuberculosis) screening. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)-Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation (ECADA).
